Most of the bar "soaps" on store shelves are actually detergents instead of true soaps. True soaps are made by combining fats and oils with lye to create a chemical reaction known as saponification. The synthetic ingredients in most detergent bars can dry out your skin. We wanted to take soap back to basics and leave out all the synthetic ingredients.
